Horse-back riding out-door excursions
The horse-back riding center organizes all-day trekkings around our territory:
while enjoying the fascination of nature, admire ancient castles, old
Churches and art sites.
Two are the itineraries that we have selected:
• The first itinerary crosses partially the forest
of the Elmo (a natural reserve of 3000 acres) in order to reach the small
village of Bagni and then, covering good part of the 170 hectares of vineyards
of Marquises Antinori, to arrive under the Castle of La Sala. By the Castle
we will stop for an "open-air" lunch. The wines for the occasion are those
of the territory. An experience that will remain impressed in the memory!
Route: La Casella, the forest of the Elmo, Bagni, Ficulle, Mount Nibbio,
La Casella.
Total distance: 15 km. approximately
Duration: 3 hours in the morning; 1,5 hours for lunch break, 1,5 hours
for come-back.
• The second itinerary crosses the small medieval
village of Parrano in order to reach the convent of the Scarzuola, founded
by Saint Francesco in 1300 and it represents one of the most meaningful
examples of religious art. The guided visit of the Scarzuola has a duration
of approximately 2 hours.
Route: La Casella, Parrano, the Pornello, Montegiove,
the Scarzuola, Castel of Fiori, La Casella.
Total distance: 22 km.
Duration: 3 hours in the morning, 1,5 for lunch break,
2 hours for come-back.
The cost:
Euro 80 for the all-day horse trekking and Euro 20 for lunch (if not already
included in the board price).
… the wild group
It is not easy to ride all together in the country, facing natural obstacles
( fords, ditchs), changing the pace and the rhythm; stopping quickly to
mantain the distance with those who follow and those who precede.
Facing all these difficulties often improbe the bilance but also.... ……
ruin many friendships!
