Experiences at La Casella
Ask a small child what the word 'experience' means and probably the reply will be, 'to feel something'.
Like all truths, this one too is very simple. To experience is to feel. And we feel when we are involved. When we are no longer onlookers, but deeply immersed into all that is going on around us.
Isn't that also a good description of travel at its best? When you can connect with nature, community and ecology, when you become a participant rather than a passer-by, authentic experiences are born.
Activities at La Casella are an invigorating blend of simple pleasures and extraordinary experiences. At our Eco country Resort you will experience Nature as never before.
Discover the new Eco-Vacation trends at La Casella, being in strict
contact with nature, horse-back
ride in our beautiful & protected woods, rejuvenate yourself at the

Ease into the moment. We invite you to unwind and relax in the serene comfort of our "natural" SPA.
La Casella's Equine Experience
It’s not about the horse. Gain new insight into your behaviors through the eyes of a horse in this hands-on experience.
Working with our specially selected horses, you’ll clean a horse’s hoof, then command him to run without ever touching his body. You’ll discover that horses feel our emotional energy, and understand yours by observing how your horse reacts to you. Be open to learning something new about yourself.
A "dinner in the woods"
An event not to be missed. This takes place during the summer season from June to September. Be it on Horse-back or on foot, the trekkers set off at sunset and arrive in the heart of the woods where a candle-lit table and roaring wood fire awaits. Bruschetta, Home made pasta, pecorino cheese, BBQ steaks and sausages are on the menu accompanied by Umbrian wine and completed with grappa and limoncello. The sound of the crickets and the hum of the fireflies are joined by a rousing guitar and after a good sing along its time to remount and head off back to La Casella, guided by moonlight. A Magical local and unique experience for all ages.
*it is possible to join the horse-trekkers and arrive in the heart of the woods for gourmet candle-lit dinners even with 4x4 Jeeps*
**Depending on availability, we can organize this special event even for 2 people only**
Horse-back riding Out-Door Excursions

Caccia alla Volpe (The Simulate Fox Hunt)
During the winter months at La Casella the main event is the “Caccia alla Volpe” or the “Fox Hunt”. But animal lovers can relax; there is no real fox involved. The simulated fox hunt has all the elements of a hunt, but with an expert rider in the role of “fox” with a tail attached to his jacket. The Riders gather at 10am for breakfast (and grappa!) in the piazza of the hotel and are reminded of the rules. The Master of the hunt, unmissable in his red jacket, has been doing the hunt for 20 years and knows all the routes for an exhilarating ride! After a short break for an aperitivo, always with the fox in sight, the grand chase at the end takes place in front of La Casella. The rider who is canny enough to grab the tail wins! This twist of experience makes a cultural event continue without harming the animals.
Other Out-Door Activities
Try something new in close contact with Nature.
Canyoning:
Canyoning is frequently done in remote and rugged settings and often requires navigational, route-finding and other wilderness travel skills.
Canyons that are ideal for canyoning are often cut into the bedrock stone, forming narrow gorges with numerous drops, beautifully sculpted walls, and sometimes spectacular waterfalls. Most canyons are cut into limestone, sandstone, granite or basalt, though other rock types are found. Canyons can be very easy or extremely difficult, though emphasis in the sport is usually on aesthetics and fun rather than pure difficulty. A wide variety of canyoning routes are found throughout the world, and canyoning is enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels.
Canyoning gear includes climbing hardware, static ropes, helmets, wetsuits, and specially designed shoes, packs, and rope bags. While canyoners have used and adapted climbing, hiking, and river running gear for years, more and more specialized gear is invented and manufactured as canyoning popularity increases.
Iron Road: An "iron road" is an inclined route which is equipped with fixed cables, stemples, ladders, and bridges. The use of these allows otherwise isolated routes to be joined to create longer routes which are accessible to people with a wide range of climbing abilities. Walkers and climbers can follow via ferratas without needing to use their own ropes and belays, and without the risks associated with unprotected scrambling and climbing.
Speleology: Speleology is the scientific study of caves and other karst features, their make-up, structure, physical properties, history, life forms, and the processes by which they form and change over time. The term speleology is also sometimes applied to the recreational activity of exploring caves, but this is more properly known as caving. Speleology and caving are often connected, as the physical skills required for in site study are the same.
Trekking: Trekking refers hiking trips through rural, often rugged territory. Trekkers engage in longer trips to explore natural, beautiful places.
Mountain Bike: This individual sport requires endurance, bike handling skills and self-reliance, and can be performed almost anywhere from a back yard to a gravel road, but the majority of mountain bikers ride off-road trails, whether country back roads, fire roads, or singletrack (narrow trails that wind through forests or fields). There are aspects of mountain biking that are more similar to trail running than regular bicycling.
Orienteering: Orienteering is a family of sports that require navigational skills using a map and compass to navigate from point to point in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain. Participants are given a map, usually a specially prepared orienteering map, which they use to find control points. Originally a training exercise in land navigation for military officers, orienteering has developed many variations. Among these, the oldest and the most popular is foot orienteering. For the purposes of this article, foot orienteering serves as a point of departure for discussion of all other variations, but basically any sport that involves racing against a clock and requires navigation using a map is a type of orienteering.
Rope Course: A ropes course is a challenging outdoor personal development and team building activity which usually consists of high and/or low elements. Low elements take place on the ground or only a few feet above the ground. High elements are usually constructed in trees or made of utility poles and require a belay for safety.
